1. what this is

unsent museum lets you pay $5 to have a short message written to the ethereum blockchain and shown on a public wall. by paying, you agree to these terms.

2. permanence

once your message is written on-chain it cannot be edited, hidden, or deleted by you, by us, or by anyone else. ethereum is a public, permanent, worldwide ledger. copies of your message may exist forever on thousands of computers we do not control. do not write anything you might want gone.

3. you are the publisher

you are the author and publisher of what you write. you are solely responsible for it and for any consequences of publishing it. you confirm you have the right to publish it and that it does not break any law where you are.

4. no private individuals’ details

you may not include information that identifies a private individual: full names, addresses, phone numbers, emails, workplaces, social handles, photos, or anything that would let a reader find them. a single first name is allowed. you may not use the wall to threaten, harass, stalk, or expose anyone.

5. moderation

every message is checked by automated systems and may be spot-checked by a person before it is written. we may reject any message for any reason and are not required to tell you why. we do not check messages after they are written, because nothing can be done about them after that.

6. refunds

refunds are issued only when a message is rejected or when we are unable to write it to the chain within 72 hours. the refund is automatic and goes back to the payment method you used. there are no refunds for messages that have been written, for any reason, including regret.

7. license

you keep whatever rights you have in your message. you grant us a perpetual, worldwide, irrevocable license to display, reproduce, and distribute it as part of the wall, in share images, and in any medium, because we could not remove it even if we wanted to.

8. no guarantees

the service is provided as is. we do not guarantee uptime, that the wall or its images will exist forever, or that the ethereum network will behave. the on-chain record is what is permanent; the website is not.

9. your data

we keep your email to send a receipt and a link to your block, and a hashed IP for abuse prevention. your email and IP are never written on-chain. payments are handled by stripe; we never see your card number.

10. age

you must be 18 or older to pay for a message.

11. changes

we may change these terms. changes apply to messages paid for after the change.
